Daddy Long Legs

I probably read most of the way through the Penguin Classics library and I definitely remember this one. This was the exact cover of my copy (still owned). The whole book is filled with Judy’s light-hearted spirit, which comes through in her letters. It’s also striking how modern Judy’s college education is as the girls read Alcott and Dickinson, which were relatively new and – at least for the Dickinson – avant-garde at the time. They also discuss swimming in lemon jelly and cook lots of toffee, so it’s not all highbrow and no fun.
