Charlotte Cooper won the first ever Olympic medal given to a woman at the Olympic Games (Paris in 1900), five consecutive Wimbledon titles, is still the oldest woman to have won a Wimbledon singles title, and one of only four women to have won singles titles at Wimbledon after becoming a mother. If that wasn’t impressive enough, she lived till she was 96, and I like to think that she might have fished and fenced with this other idol. Photo from Wikipedia.
